EMILY & KIEREN'S WEDDING DAY - REAL BRIDE!

I started the day by getting my bridesmaids up at the crack of dawn to walk Rosebud Beach with me. I took an unplanned dip in the water which turned out to be lovely and refreshing before the day ahead.

We returned to the Airbnb we had rented and my wonderful make up artist and hair dressers had just arrived.

The morning was so much fun with plenty of nervous energy, bubbles and copious amounts of laughs. My hairdressers finished in record time, so we then had plenty of time to place my stunning Michelle Pagonis bridal headpiece and veil.

This was a very special moment as my mum had worn this headpiece on her wedding day 30 years ago, and with Michelle Pagonis’ help modernising it, I was able to wear it on my own wedding day.

I received so many compliments from everyone that saw it being placed into my hair and I had a quiet moment with mum. Afterwards we were reminiscing on her wedding day and looking at the photos of my headpiece in her hair. My gorgeous maids of honour helped me put my earrings on and always made sure my wedding veil was sitting beautifully leading up to the ceremony.

“If I get married, I want to be very married.”

My soon to be husband was enjoying time with his mates getting ready in the morning in a separate Airbnb, with our photographer and videographer going between houses to capture all the behind-the-scenes moments.

THE TRUE LOVE STORY

Kieren and I got married in his late-grandfather’s garden, on the top of the hill in Dromana. The ceremony was very emotion filled with us, along with all of our guests, laughing and crying the whole way through.

The sun began to come out just as we had our first kiss as husband and wife and we believe that this was Kieren’s grandfather looking down on the ceremony.

We had a glass of bubbles to celebrate and our guests enjoyed some custom biscuits with our wedding date baked onto them as a tasty treat after the ceremony.

Our bridal portraits were taken at the Dromana Pier, Dromana beach boxes and in the Red Hill Lavender fields.

Because the day was slightly overcast (with no rain thankfully!) there weren’t too many people on the beach, so this made the perfect backdrop for our photos.

Us and our bridal party had a great time sinking into the sand and laughing our way through the photos.

Hilariously, I spent the car ride to the reception venue carefully picking all the beach material that had accumulated in my dress and bridal veil.

We arrived at our wedding reception and our guests were munching on the delicious grazing platters our venue had provided.

The guests were seated and our bridal party made an entrance to the song ‘Closer’ which was actually released on the day Kieren and I met!

We were so pumped to see our guests happy and excited for us! We had the most delectable meal and enjoyed hearing the speeches from our nearest and dearest.

Kieren and I shared a very special moment with our first dance as husband and wife, and then we danced the night away surrounded by everyone!

It was the best day of our lives and we will never forget each individual moment that made it the day it was!
